After already having a legendary career in tobacco, master blender Jose Seijas crafted this as the first cigar that was personally his. With a pedigree like that it is little wonder this blend is as captivating as it is.

The profile is fairly robust but is well balanced and approachable. The overall profile of is deep, rich flavors of molasses and dark roast coffee. Underlying mocha notes and a long finish that hints at quiet earth and structured leather leave a lasting impression. The follow-on to the magnificent Renacer blend that launched the next chapter in master Jose Seijas' career, with his own brand of Matilde Cigars, the Oscura takes it to a new and deeper level.

The vogue thing of late is that everyone needs to have a San Andres cigar in their stable. So there's now a plethora of cigars with this dark, rich and spicy wrapper leaf. However, to really distinguish yourself, you need to take that leaf and execute it in a blend that sets itself apart in a new and profound way. That is what you have here with the Matilde Oscura.

Depth, richness, and complexity sum up this exceedingly complex blend. Seijas took the Mexican wrapper that is so popular these days and took it to a new level by crafting a blend that uses a Sumatra leaf for the binder, lending structure, spice, and complexity, and then added in some Pennsylvania leaf to the filler for further depth and richness.

Spice is the headline of this blend, but it is offset and validated by a grand richness. Black and white pepper set the stage, but complexity and dark flavors carry it home.

Nica Rustica El Brujito is a cigar made by Drew Estate that is aptly named and fully delivers. It's a rustic Nicaraguan cigar named after El Brujito, who is a shaman or, more literally, "witch doctor", stretching back to pre-Columbian times. This cigar looks like it tastes: authentic, without frills, and only focused on the genuine quality of tobacco. The head is finished with a straight twisted cap and the foot has the uncut wrapper gathered over the end of the filler.

The CAO Mx2 blend is one of the best and most approachable Maduro presentations out there. The Mx2 name comes from "Maduro X 2" because the wrapper is a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro and the binder is a Brazilian Maduro leaf. This cigar was crafted in homage to Warped founder Kyle Gellis' father. The 5" x 46 Petite Corona Gorda is produced at the El Titan de Bronze factory in Little Havana with a daily production limited to only 100 cigars. The Oliva Saison is made in Nicaragua with a blend of Nicaraguan binder and filler tobacco finished with an Habano wrapper grown in the soils of Ecuador. These tobaccos unite into a medium-full strength profile that has deep, rich, and earthy flavors like coffee, leather, and oak. There is also an under-layer that is spicier and more robust with prominent notes of pepper and bright cedar. This blend is classic Oliva: spicy, captivating, yet well balanced.

The Oliva Serie G is a magnificent, flavorful, and mellow Cameroon wrapped cigar. The genuine African Cameroon wrapper is the showcase of this cigar. Cameroon is always a special varietal to use as a wrapper leaf, but this is even one step better because it is grown in Africa. The sweet and subtly spicy richness of the wrapper is bolstered by heartier strength and flavor from the Nicaraguan Habano binder and filler to combine into an exceptionally pleasant blend.
